2019.17.1 “The Kiss” Statue

This statue depicts the famous photograph taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt of “The Kiss” during the celebration of the victory over Japan during WWII. It was donated by 96-year-old Pearl Harbor Commendation Medal of Valor recipient, Portland Fire Department hero, one of our museum founders, and first Board President, Ed Johan.
